With the wail of Big Pharma sponsored bullies at their back, homeopaths need a lot of help these days. So Nelson’s Homeopathic has come up with help in the form of positive promotional materials for homeopaths. Homeopathy is the wonderful alternative healing modalities used by millions around the world.
But this effort by Nelson’s is now being attacked by the anonymous “gimpy”. He seems to suggest that homeopaths should not accept help but instead put their neck in the Big Pharma noose without complaint.
Considering the vitriol and underhanded anonymous tactics that he and others use, I’m sure the homeopaths feel that any help is appreciated, but nooses not.
I’ve talked about some of the “sponsored” pharmaceutical company representatives leading the skeptic cry. But many of the niave, sheep like follower skeptics of alternative health methods and skeptics of organic foods think that what they are doing is simply altruistic and protecting the integrity of science. Unfortunately, that is definitely not the case. They are simply increasing the likelihood that all of “science” will be controlled by corporations that do not have your health and wellbeing necessarily in mind.
The niave assumption is that all of conservative, conventional science is completely integral and never biased or just having a few little indiscretions. Lets face it, in a GMO dominated and pharmaceutical dominated world this is impossible at the moment.
In their niave zeal skeptics even call for monopolies in medicine and agriculture and are unquestioning of pharmaceutical medicine. This scenerio is now in play in the UK. The attempted destruction of alternatives can only increase the grip that pharmaceutical companies have on medicine and Monsanto has on agriculture. A very tight and costly grip.
In the Daily Mail, under a similar title, these two state:
“And yet it is only comparatively recently that they have developed an approach that allows them to separate the effective from the ineffective, and the safe from the dangerous.”
Are you really serious about this!?! There is no way that conventional medicine has proven that it’s standards prevent inneffective or dangerous drugs and procedures from coming to market! Look at Ezetimibe, Vioxx, many implants, surgical techniques and recently simple cough syrups and lets not forget thalidomide. These were all “vetted” by double blind studies and the standards that these two are promoting. The danger from these drugs has in hind site unfortunately been proven. The danger from alternatives is opinion.
It is estimated that four per cent of all hospital beds in the UK are taken up with patients who have had bad effects from conventional medical treatment and drugs. These two ignore that and keep spouting their misguided and one sided opinions in the guise of “science”. They don’t tally the cost of this mess.
But they have effectively jumped on the bandwagon of bashing alternative medicine and selling lots of books, articles and gaining fame. Misguiding the public into believing that something that has not been proven dangerous (alternatives) is, and that something that is proven to be dangerous (many but not all conventional treatments and drugs) is not, is what I would call the real “hoodwinking” of the public.
